Introduction of CO2 Emission Calculation in EnergyGrip

Starting in June 2024, the EnergyGrip portal will offer a new, revolutionary feature: CO2 emission calculation for electricity and gas consumption. Thanks to the recently launched API from the National Energy Dashboard, users can now gain insight into their CO2 emissions with just one click.

Key Features

  • CO2 emission calculations: Users can now easily access CO2 emission data for every kWh of electricity or cubic meter of gas consumed. This data is visible one day after the measurement.
  • Historical insights: It is possible to view emission data historically, from the start of your measurements. This provides a comprehensive overview from hourly to yearly levels.
  • Specific energy mix: The calculations are based on the current energy mix in the Netherlands, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

With this new feature, our customers can effortlessly calculate their CO2 emissions with just one click. This not only simplifies tracking emissions but also shows the impact of their efforts to reduce CO2 emissions over time.

We believe this tool will be of great value in helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals and transparently demonstrate the effectiveness of their environmental measures.

National Energy Dashboard

On March 21, 2024, TenneT and Gasunie, in collaboration with the National Climate Platform (NKP) and the Dutch Association for Sustainable Energy (NVDE), launched the National Energy Dashboard. Through the website www.ned.nl, data on energy consumption and generation, which play an increasingly important role in our energy system, can be found.

Users of the Dashboard can use independent, up-to-date data and insights to contribute to a reliable, more sustainable energy supply in the Netherlands. The platform is a logical evolution of existing websites such as Energy Generation, CO2 Monitor, and Energy Weather Report. The initiators warmly encourage the market and society to contribute ideas to the further development of the National Energy Dashboard.
